Hailed Bergen's best-looking chef by some, Eelke ten Broeke is certainly the most charming and definitely the most adventurous restaurateur the village has. Dining at Cunst is simply delightful, from the moment you hand your coat to a member of his dedicated waiting staff well into the following day, when I predict you'll still be savouring the stunning combinations of flavours to which you've been treated.
France Goes Far East
Cunst's fusion cuisine pleasantly surprises even the most seasoned palate, bringing together the best of kitchens French, Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese. Using only the freshest, organic ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible, Eelke cooks up a fortnightly menu of ten small (and appropriately priced) dishes so that guests can taste a variety of his creations in one evening. Organic beef from his own cows, uncommon examples of the fish variety and vegetables you may never even have heard of come together on your plate at Cunst with the intent to make you marvel at their presentation and relish every bite.
Cunst always has a choice of carefully selected fine wines uncorked so that you can marry each dish with its perfect accompaniment without having to order a whole bottle. If you prefer, of course, you may make your own choice from the extensive wine list or ask for advice from one of the knowledgeable waitresses.
Cunst is open Wednesday through Sunday all year round. Lunch is served daily upon reservation for groups of ten or more only. The restaurant is tucked away in the narrow Kleine Dorpsstraat less than 50 metres from the Ruïnekerk. During the summer months, you can dine outside on Cunst's cushy terrace.
