Immediate Help – Call 112

Call 112: If you need immediate help – police, fire brigade, ambulance or coast guard – call 112 from any phone, Dutch or foreign, even if it doesn’t have a SIM-card.

Emergency text phone for deaf people: 0800-8112.

Emergency animal police unit: 114

If you need the police for anything other than an emergency, call 0900-8844 (text phone for deaf people: 0900-1844), or +31-343 57 8844 if you are phoning from outside the Netherlands.

Other Inconveniences

If you need a doctor, please follow this link to the English page of Bergen’s doctors surgery. If you need to see a doctor urgently in the evening, at weekends or on a public holiday, you should call the doctors office in Alkmaar on 072 – 518 0618.

If you need a dentist, we have a dentist in Bergen who speaks no less than six (!) languages: English, Dutch, German, French, Italian and Luxembourgish. Dr Avelli’s website is here and you can call the practice on 072 – 581 7427.
